Medical Advisor Coach (MA)

 

Candidates for this position must meet the following requirements:

 

POSITION SCOPE:

The Medical Advisor Coach is responsible to the Center Administrator and provides simple routine patient care within his/her level of training and functions under the direction/guidance of the physician in accordance with relevant state statutes.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

¨       Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program with a valid MA school certificate or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or 5 (five) years relevant clinical experience.

¨       Medical office experience preferred.

¨       Ability to multitask in a high paced environment with good organizational skills and attention to detail while maintaining the ability to prioritize.

¨       Possess a current CPR certificate or ability to obtain within 90 (ninety) days of employment.

¨       Must be a team player.

¨       Display professional attributes through appearance and interactions with staff and customers.

¨       Ability to communicate effectively with patients and all levels of personnel in a professional, courteous and effective manner with proficient customer service skills.

¨       Must be able to display proficient telephone etiquette.

¨       Must be able to display accountability and dependability when carrying out assigned duties on a daily basis.

¨       Ability to accurately document and report findings and observations.

¨       Clinical knowledge and skills as determined by MA scope of practice.

¨       Strong phlebotomy skills.

¨       Knowledge of medical equipment and maintenance.

¨       Ability to provide on-site emergency treatment within scope of practice.

¨       Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

¨       High school graduate, GED or equivalent.

¨       Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently.

¨       Ability to travel may be required.

¨       Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Under direction and supervision of physician, administers medications, immunizations, EKGs, ear washes, PFTs and other patient services. Assists in simple office and minor surgical procedures.   When in lab area, is responsible for all laboratory duties including drawing, spinning, prepping blood for testing and maintaining appropriate logs.  Maintains equipment and adequate stock levels of consumables.  Acts as liaison between all vendors, including independent lab services.  Monitors OSHA compliance of the center. Documents appropriately and accurately all patient care services. Performs patient care services under the direction of a physician.  Assists with the education of the patient and/or family as directed by the physician.  Contacts patients to advise of test results, instructions from the physician and schedules necessary visits. Responds to patient inquiries. Assists with triage calls when requested. Maintains patient medical records in accordance with JSA Procedure. Maintains strict confidentiality of all information within the facility per HIPAA regulations. Conducts all front office functions as requested. Other duties as assigned.
